The World As I See It

I know it has been a while since I last shared my thoughts. I have been busy (couldn't think of what to write and share). It is really difficult to think of things when there are so many new games being released (like Assassin's Creed and Tomb Raiders' new instalments). I choose to write about the importance of 'networking'. To me networking is like a spider making it is web, every line is interconnected, its strong/steady and long-lasting. What does it really mean and what is my take on this. In a literal meaning 'Networking is about developing long-term relationships for mutual gain and creating a lasting impression with people so that they think of you positively when an opportunity arises'.   [I don't own this image] Why Network? In my opinion, one of the most beneficial aspects of networking is creating awareness . If your goal is to get a new job, expand your business and/or gain market share, awareness is an absolute necessity. ...

I often think what makes someone a 'better person', still haven't gotten a concrete answer for this question. Different people have different opinion but there is something common in them all... 'Help make a difference' . This could be anything from improving your lifestyle, standards, helping out others and even sending out positive vibes. Start a charity or volunteer for a charity, help out others especially children with anything from schoolwork to playing with them, spend time with the elderly and the artistic/handicapped people - they are the ones that need the most attention and care. Every day I try to learn something new, be it related to my career (Business Analysis), games or research about different things. There are hundreds of informative sites and articles (sadly I don't have time to read them all). This week it was all about learning new things related to business analysis and the best place for that (in my opinion) is the IIBA website . There I read an article titled " The Business of Business Analysis " by Maureen McVey. In this article she has referred to another articled published in 'The Houston Chronicle' ( link to the article ). Growing up I always used to argue with people on the topic that 'games are a waste of time' or 'games are evil' (made me laugh everything I heard the latter). It is a fact of life that people tend to reject/degrade new ideas and inventions. History has numerous examples to back this fact up (which is just sad if you ask me).    [I don't own this image, Wii z7 on deviantART owns it] Games always have something to offer if you are willing to learn. Few weeks ago, I read an article that Norwegian boy saved sister from Moose attack using World of Warcraft Skills . You will find similar examples if you open your mind to new concepts. My aim in life is to build interactive educational games for children so that learning to them feels like games, not like homework. Games in my opinion is an untouched gold mine. Something that people have only recently begun to realize and started working on it. That said... read ahead and be amazed at what games can be and do... happ...

I may be a business analyst by profession, but my learning will never stop. Everyday, I learn something new which helps me grow both professionally as well as personally. We live in a weird world where saying 'Yes' and 'No' too often is a bad thing and never saying them is the worst. You are either too rude/proud or naïve/stupid. No matter which one you choose, you can never make everyone happy, and this should not be your aim in life. You will disappoint people , even hurt them but remember never to do these things on purpose. We must remember one thing in life and that is, to know our own limit. You cannot blame others for crossing your limits if you don't have one. You need to honor and respect yourself  before you expect it from others. I never liked people giving advises to others about situations they never were in themselves. So how could they possibly know what the other person would be going through? How can they tell them what to do or how to go about things? It's funny how everyone tries to a 'jack of all trades' yet in reality be good at almost nothing (I know I'm being all dramatic here, let me enjoy my moment of drama queen).
