Generalization i.e deducement

“I often wonder why the whole world is so prone to generalise. Generalisations are seldom if ever true and are usually utterly inaccurate.”- Agatha Christie, Murder at the Vicarage I had decided to be regular in my writing, but life happens and it's been months since my last post. I was struggling to think of what to write about as currently my mind is all over the place but then it hit me how we humans have this annoying habit of generalizing others and even things. I am guilty of doing this myself but despite not liking it, I have done it one too many times. [I don't own this image, I Googled it]   Some examples of generalisations that I can think of at the moment are: Cats are meaner than dogs. All IT people are hackers. Geeks/Nerds are not good at sports. Everyone is a cynic these days. People who smile the most are the happiest people,    etc. In my opinion (not that it matters, nor anyone asked), some generalisation may have some trut...

Authenticity – road to true self

Be true to yourself , four simple words with deep rooted meaning. Who am I? Who am I really? These sort of questions I have often asked myself, and sometimes found it rather hard to answer truthfully. Fakeness : in today’s world, this is the new norm. Fake plastered-on smiles, the exaggerated laughs, or the over-the-top bubbly giggling, the sickly sweet or overly macho personalities, the wanna-be's and the posers etc. the list goes on and on. Who are we honestly? Instead of humbling answering this, the majority of us choose to pretend to be someone we believe will be loved and accepted by all. “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” - Aristotle The sad thing is no one is innocent. Every single person in today’s world is guilty of pretending to be someone they are not (be it in the past or present). There are numerous reasons why people pretend to be someone they are not like being a victim of negative self-complexity, lack of self-awareness, fear of r...

Smile and the world will smile with you

Looking back at my last post, it has been almost 3.5 years – can’t believe so much time has passed. Just like majority of the world population, I had disappeared in the robotic routine of this world that I forget why I started writing in the first place. This blog was my way of sharing my life’s journey with you – my fellow earthlings. Thinking maybe someone out there somewhere would find all my blabbering informative and life changing. I would still have been stuck in my routine and blog would have had real spider webs on it, had it not been for a special friend (let’s give her a cool nickname, White Dragon Lady). She, in your own way, pestered me about why I stopped writing, and it got me thinking, why indeed. We all strive for a better life… more money, more fame, more materialistic things that we lose sight of one of the more precious things in this world… being a good human being. “ Be a good human being, a warm hearted, affectionate person. That is my fundamental belie...

Maintaining a balance

We live in a weird world where saying 'Yes' and 'No' too often is a bad thing and never saying them is the worst. You are either too rude/proud or naïve/stupid. No matter which one you choose, you can never make everyone happy, and this should not be your aim in life. You will disappoint people , even hurt them but remember never to do these things on purpose. We must remember one thing in life and that is, to know our own limit. You cannot blame others for crossing your limits if you don't have one. You need to honor and respect yourself  before you expect it from others. You can do this by never comparing yourself to anyone else. You are unique and so are they! [ I copied this image from Sevenly.org, I don't ow n it ] Now back to my first point (opening paragraph). How can you say yes and no without being step-over or told by people? For that you will need to learn how to balance your life. Remember you don't need to be rude to pe...
