Maintaining a balance

We live in a weird world where saying 'Yes' and 'No' too often is a bad thing and never saying them is the worst. You are either too rude/proud or naïve/stupid. No matter which one you choose, you can never make everyone happy, and this should not be your aim in life. You will disappoint people, even hurt them but remember never to do these things on purpose.

We must remember one thing in life and that is, to know our own limit. You cannot blame others for crossing your limits if you don't have one. You need to honor and respect yourself before you expect it from others. You can do this by never comparing yourself to anyone else. You are unique and so are they!

Now back to my first point (opening paragraph). How can you say yes and no without being step-over or told by people? For that you will need to learn how to balance your life. Remember you don't need to be rude to people to have your say and you don't need to ignore your priorities to be liked by others. You should definitely help out others as much as possible because this is what separates us humans from other living beings. If you have time and can manage helping others out, then by all means but if you are already over-burdened with your own work and priorities then learn to say no in a polite manner so that the other person realizes that they can’t walk all over you.

I am talking from experience here, saying ‘yes’ one too many times and people will expect it all the time… they will start taking you for granted and walk all over you. While on the other hand, saying ‘no’ all the time tends to keep people away from you and if you ever need them for anything, no one will help you out in the time of need. SO, what am I getting at exactly? (good question!) Maintain a balance between your ‘yes’ and ‘no’ in manner that your personality is not affected by it. You don’t need to be compared to likes of Mother Teresa to be liked nor Hitler to be hated (no offense to any of them)… You need to be true to yourself, be who you are… helps others and let them truly see you as you!

Remember never compare yourself with anyone else in the world, because they might not have gone through life like you did... life deals us both easy and hard cards, both of these mold us into the person we are today and the power of who you want to become lies entirely in your hands! That being said, you should also remember one last thing and that is you cannot go through life alone... You need people for support, help and to enjoy life with.

So be yourself, maintain a balanced life. Do something now that will make the person, you will be tomorrow proud to have been the person you are today!

I will end with a motivating quote:

"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you'll never, ever have enough." - Oprah Winfrey
