Imagine you are walking down the street you have thousand times already only to realize that you have never been here before... freaky isn't it! Well, you can say the same thing about how I became a Business Analyst.
Since I was little, I wanted to become a famous game designer who had games like Tomb Raider, Thief, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, Call of Duty, Halo, Modern Warfare and Max Payne... this is not possible in reality but you can't blame someone for dreaming big! So how did I end up being a Business Analyst instead of living my dream... well for starters I did my bachelor's in software engineering (4 years degree) only to find out that to do masters in gaming designing, I needed a 4 years degree in gaming designing. Now who in their right frame of mind would want to study 4 more years to get another bachelor's degree, I surely wasn't going to. Anyways, since that didn't work out.
My second dream was to become a world famous hacker (much like the Anonymous group - the robin-hood of modern online world) but unfortunately there are no formal degree for hacking so that was out of the question for me... (remember to dream about things that you can actually achieve 😉 )

Let me get to the point here... How I became a professional business analyst with experience in requirements gatherings, wire-framing, and stakeholder management (sounds all professional doesn't it). It all began long time ago... after my graduation not so long ago... I was hired as a technical writer for a company that made applications for social media sites and smart-phones. I was initially required to draft documents like proposals for different projects, work breakdown structures, interface mock-ups, requirement specifications and technical feasibility documents. My manager was a guy who was also a gaming freak like me and he brought me on a few gaming projects... These were games for Facebook for different clients mostly from USA and Europe. He made sure that I engaged in the project from the start till the end... this exposed me to the world of business analysis and how I fitted in it perfectly. Within few months, I was promoted to a junior business analyst and after a couple of months working as that and completing few projects, I was promoted again to a business analyst position and was responsible for heading the business development department with 3 junior business analysts to mentor... This was my calling!

Hope to be a Business Analyst too :)
